for forming stable, I would rather say that every manufacturer nor his own soup is cooking ... Both systems have their merits - for instance if stable in stabilized viewfinder images objectively ...
And if you have a digital camera in stable synonymous with the old but not a stable objective stabilized viewfinder images

with the "trend" are Sonygemeint especially the DSLRs of. Sonykam so late in the DSLR segment with cameras out and therefore one of the young players in the DSLR market. Here was placed on optical Stabiliserungssysteme that in the camera body and not, as in the traditional DSLR manufacturers, mounted in the lens.
While doing the Sonyaus obvious reasons, yet with video features in DSLRs bit hard - but that's again another story.

Pentax has the body stabilization system and drives very well with it - Sonysollte withdraw from the DSLR market again - on the wrong horse, you have set (IMO).
