Mit den finanziellen Resourcen of Oakley im Kreuz erscheint das RED-Project immer weniger als Vapour-Ware. Eine solche Camera kann synonymous nur of einem Camera-Außenseiter-Team kommen, weil etablierte Manufacturer auf Ihren Kundenkreis achten müssen and hier aus Gewinnüberlegungen heraus nur kleine Evolutionsschritte gehen können / wollen. Die RED-CAM würde jedoch einen riesigen Wirbel verursachen, wenn sie denn tatsächlich Wirklichkeit wird ... stay tuned ...

The features of this camera are beautiful to be true. I guess there still some horse-foot (ie problem) such as:
- Too expensive
- Only comes in 2010 (then other Manufacturers have already pulled in)
- Too heavy / large for ordinary petrol
- Save expensive (professionele) devices to the amount of data needed
- Poor image quality
In any case, I'm curious to see the final product.

The red camera was not the first digital camera with such high resolution:
- Panavision Genesis (12.4 megapixels)
- Dalsa Origin was mentioned (as before), there are some reports about this
- Arri D20 (smaller resolution, but has something synonymous about 3K)
The problem is not the cameras and the chip where special resolution with the gigantic amounts of data of 1.2 GB / s!!

ps. The Panavision genesis there since 2004 and the Dalsa even since 2003! The RED also comes too late!
Such cameras will prevail only if the record is no longer an SGI cluster needs.

Pixler agree entirely with the problem is the data rate or if you are in 2k 4k range moves. what good is a terrific resolution when I need to compress it down to me not much left? if you can afford it you can of course vollknallen picture data with tens festplatten! if you can afford it can be synonymous to drehn 65mmn. 'm tired of these slow hd discussion. until there is no reasonable solution: shoot film instead of counting pixels!

I find this device great still and wait for the release.

When I record with this device 10bitlog at 720p with 25fps, then
my little world in order. Who says that I need to use the 4K?
And if the shots are oK, then cut to put in a cut-friendly format and Jucha!

3.5 x25fps = 87.5 MB / sec.
So Does every RAID0/5-Gespann help me out here. And if a codec - MJPEG oä - I still compressed, then everything is Buttermäßig.

what heist which will not make do with do it your self equipment ... among the features that is always worth the price I suppose. think that as professionals hingucken free and happy times. I mean you make it synonymous with your pc but otherwise ... here and there to try new matters rumkonfigurieren no preference whether one knows the company's background. So when the cameras should be the same ....
can of course remain synonymous with the beta or if you xlH1 the last.
certainly for filmemacher etc everything is fine and good but there are a thousand other areas such as VFX, presentation and Movies where this development is simply indispensable ...
naja only store in our development is too slow ... because we have determined can really nen prob ... so oh eight 15 user no terra raid afford ....
