Hi,
I still relatively new in dealing with video editing am I need some help.
I intend to give me a HD zuzulegen camcorder (Panasonic HDC-SDX1). The camcorder can record in MPEG4 format and AVCHD. To achieve the best recording quality, I'll take the AVCHD format. I will edit the videos with Pinnacle 12.1 plus later.
Since I mainly watch the videos would later s.meinem PC screen, to me is the question of what is now the best output format for the edited video. Pinnacle offers yes to various output options.
Perhaps someone can shed some light into the darkness?

The highest quality outputs you get but if the final format is similar to the source format. If the editing program "Smart Rendering" supports - this is not common for AVCHD - you work really at the highest level.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have edited the captured video with Pinnacle and adopted various output formats, the AVCHD file was not the greatest in scope. Would require a high quality video / Resolutionvon the file size to not be quite big? Then the AVCHD file but for example would have to be larger than a mpeg2 file (in the best quality), right?

How big is a file, depending of the chosen bit rate is not s.and the codec, whether a file with 25Mbit in MPEG2 or AVCHD is coded, does not matter (with Constance bit rate). However, the codecs are different efficiency, so you can eg use a lower bit rate in AVCHD to achieve the same quality as with MPEG2.
eg H264 (AVCHD uses h264) is look for a suitable codec which is efficient, how high the bitrate should be, you have to try holding something that comes down to what looks good for you because there are no fixed values.
