I think only the HS100 comes into question. "Professional" in their class, picture quality is not bad, super small and with enough memory cards ideal backpacking friend. As it is with the heat I can not say, but actually it should be less vulnerable than a purely mechanical camcorder.

ok. One disadvantage about the high price-per-memory storage capacity and possibly the compression. alternatively, would most likely be the HV30 or HV20 in DV ask or older models.
