Hi Folks I am a total noob what videos are concerned with something.
I have ne WinDV with Camera and the video is copied to the calculator. An approximately 20mins long. Avi is about 4.5 Gb in size ... pretty shit:)
Now me, I have Virtual Dub pulled but I have no plan for what settings I must assume a relatively small file comes out. As a measure, I would so 1GB = 100min imagine, the quality should be good. I know not what I was set to please help me here.
And I have sometimes with compression of the video worked but when the process bar after 1.5h to grade times a pixel has grown and estimated time of 25h were still whole, I prefer abandoned.

... normal. The present format called DV-AVI, and will of any video editing program accepts. The processing and subsequent output as a DVD video so that nothing stands in your way.

Is it going no preference, which s.Ende Compression format comes out? There you go just a fast compression, a small target file and playback ability s.PC enough? Then look to the times of Windows Media Encoder. It is easy to operate and expects relatively quickly.
A further highly compressed WMV files, although not impossible, but completely uninteresting. The quality suffers (always) by the compression (no preference in what format) and can not be restored. I recommend, therefore, the original MiniDV tape lift.
