After one of my miniDV tapes lying around unattended is a long time I tried to dub it. I noticed picture problems (artifacts) and clicks on the soundtrack. Unfortunately, the errors are synonymous, when I play the tape in the camcorder, so I suspect that it has itself been affected. The images are still usable (Holiday movie), but the constant crackling are a show-stopper.
Is there a way to do something about the sound problems too? (Say cut away the crackling automatic?)

Hello Martin,
had the problem once synonymous. Sporatische Knax on both soundtracks. Unfortunately I have not found a synonymous automated solution. Then have the Knax selectiert with audition with his hand and set to 0db. Is it true but it is not always short dropouts Knax more. If you still want to do something more, so you can s.den authorities the right and the left-Soundtrack mix.

Adobe Audition seems to cost much money, I guess Audacity can just as well? I would simply Sound and Picture of the finished. Avi file to separate the free from the crackling sound as described and then create the finished with VirtualDub. Avi File?

Martin In various audio editors, there are functions to wegzurechnen clicks (usually meant for vinyl)
