The most important criteria in my opinion the sound quality and noise, and this, I could not find any information. The handling is so synonymous interesting, but about the various functions you can check yourself in the data sheets.

Unfortunately, something superficially in terms of suitability for the area of sound for video.
The zooms are notorious for offering no real Aussteuerungsregelung, but only a software-level in the digital area. Actually a NoGo, if one has understood the times.
The M-Audio has is thanks of all tested devices the best audio quality (> 90dB noise and distortion), (which is just synonymous to the balanced inputs of a separate mic and line pegelbar) to. He has one synonymous practical limiter s.Bord.
The zoom lens for digital recorders expected to remain at moderate views just 70dB sound values, Swissonic even less. Individually differentiable digital noise is heard when the Group.
Interestingly, the M-Audio, in conjunction with tapeless camcorders and DSLRs, because he carries the recording date and time and accordingly zeitstempelt in the file system - especially allowing for separate audio recording later very simple mapping of audio to video when the times of Camera and audio recorders were previously grossly synchronized. The effort flap with labeling and announcements can be if we work carefully, completely eliminated.
The existing M-Audio in real 48Volt phantom supply was completely suppressed in the article. In combination with high-quality condenser microphones, it allows the cleanest shots of the aforementioned devices.
The zoom allows H4n with a few tricks of his multi-track mode, even the use of limited time code, synonymous, of course, even if he can not deal directly with timecode. But you can if necessary timecodebasierte precisely a dual-functioning system perform it.
The M-Audio now costs half of H4n. Because the audio qualities of the limiter, the Phantom of the pension and I consider the timestamping of an insider tip.
It can be easily supplied via external USB, what could the concerns about the integrated perspective Batteries something.
The drastic price reduction for M-Audio some time ago (before cost) could be as much as the H4/H4n mean that there is a successor in the works.
The Swissonic of its audio quality here is so modest that it offers no advantage against (at least manual headroom), in-camera recordings.
If you add a external sound recorder for audio-for-video takes into consideration needs to be quite clear:
Balanced inputs (either via the XLR or phone jack) and phantom power are nunmal prerequisite to work with high-quality condenser microphones and cables to be extended. While it is the synonymous with the simpler recorders if necessary by additional phantom power supplies and battery-powered preamplifier realize, but the Komplettsetup is thus naturally more complex, expensive and 'less mobile'.

I've bought myself a few days before the Tascam DR 07th Have long wavered between this and the M-Audio MicroTrack II ultimately gave the built-in battery MicroTrack the scales against him. The audio quality of the Tascam is, I think phenomenal. For me he is the tip in the range below 200, - Euro. XLR I'd have to exclude in advance for financial reasons. I unfortunately had to stay below 200,-Euro, otherwise it would probably become the zoom H4n. It seemed to mainly responsive operation, that is synonymous to built-in microphones. The DR-07 is in a few seconds for recording up to 48 kHz 24 bit.
Have not regretted the purchase of the Tascam. Better not. I am truly amazed at the audio quality. Since I already have a portable device with XLR inputs, was not the renunciation of XLR inputs for me so tragic.

For completeness: Zoom H2 have H4n And like the M-Audio timestamping, the Swissonic do not. The old Zoom H4, predecessor of H4n also has no timestamping.
The zooms have gotten somewhat synonymous in video beating because the real sampling in which not just the usual fluctuations in digital equipment, but both devices are subject to constant (different lower), one for long shots has thus Syncverluste because the recorder is running slower than the Camera .
This must be then in the post-expansion through time stretching / or compensate for cuts.
However, the problem only occurs on very long shots, and the problem of divergence of two non-synchronized recording devices so it is more or less pronounced stop in principle, to a certain extent synonymous, the fluctuations of temperature and vibration. The zoom seems to be only in so far as specific as that seems to run all at the same rate too slow. You could say synonymous, they have full 'reliable' ;-)
