Frage von JMitch:Which sensor is better for video cameras?
What distinguishes the sensors?
Can someone please enlighten me? Thank you.
Antwort von JMitch:
In short: CMOS can easily read -> shorter exposure times, CCD makes colors brighter and has more minimal Lowlight performance. In a consumer model, but will see no differences.

Had times night shots with its cheap Aiptek made (CMOS). By contrast, the Panasonic (with CCD camera, about 1 year old) of my neighbors in the same circumstances is absolutely nothing more to be seen ... the cheap Cam made the situation absolutely top video .. The same is with my cell phone (billigster CMOS, Half VGA)! How should I interpret this? Why do joke with Videofnktion in almost complete darkness and good video camcorder is not cheaper?
Antwort von Jan:
First and foremost, it is cheaper, which is a main reason for Canon and Sonyauf to him. The Aiptek CMOS are therefore not comparable.
The CMOS sensors are especially SonyHDR FX 7 definitely less noise at high gain reinforcements, but have a slightly worse performance than a Lowlight CCD.
For concert film where the smear Effects (white vertical stripes with lights) always on the nerves went with CMOS are not or barely visible, due to stop reading other CCDs.
With CMOS sensors can be easily synonymous functions such as slow motion realized.
CMOS sensors consume much less power, I have in the Comparison of FX 7 for FX 1 synonymous noticed.
The heat development is synonymous lower, which at high values of gain can be beneficial - noise (but rather on the Digital Camera page)
Yes CMOS can be quickly read through each pixel its own amplifier.
The CMOS is difficult to reattach the CCD next time.

about entire dissertations have been written (you can find in the networked).
previously were worse than ccd cmos, but they have already angegelichen.
CMOS advantages for the most part were all mentioned. disadvantage is with IR images, that they in the IR range is not as sensitive as CCDs. CCD, up to a wavelength of 1000nm register.
A camera according cmos / ccd choose pointless I think.
