In November gehts los, I set out on a world trip. First of New Zealand, Australia, South Pacific and USA, and then let's look at next. To dokumtentieren this as well, I'm now looking for a good camcorder. There are different Kriterinen, which affect the choice and make it somewhat more difficult.
1. The price as above. ¬ 2800 is about my price limit, so more complicated.
2. Well, in Flige there is limited space, so you can take synonymous limited luggage. An old used Beta SP-shoulder camera is also gone times. I have to put schlieslich something else. In addition, this camera would be something stupid to carry around with them as a backpacker himself.
3. The sound should be as well. The camera should also have the best possible micro-camera, or have at least one microphone input and a fastening shoe. In various tests is, unfortunately, hardly anything said about the sound quality. a world tour, wow that is cool. Well, there is a cam, which stands out to me since. A Sony, as always. Even with XLR connectors.
It is a HVR-A1 (HDV, DV, ie you can record in HDV and DV in)

So I've just filmed extensively in the U.S. - ok in national parks, what does it mean intensely. A few weeks halt of several months, I can only dream about.
But what I've seen here again violently, those are the limitations of the camcorder, extreme light / dark differences still recorded. Where the eye sees something else, one stop on the video either black or white.
Therefore, more and more what I consider to be valuable to get out of a given situation, the maximum film to be, are the handwritten controls. Not that one does not work with automatics - but opened to intervene much better opportunities for the artistic design of the video.
With such a - probably even in the life-time - the opportunity of a trip around the world, I would always shoot with HDV, because it simply is future proof. I would take me synonymous enough mini-DV tapes, which you get then in the targeted regions of the world occasionally difficult synonymous (in the U.S. that is) more difficult.
I would not go to Acer in derogation to the A1, but rather on the FX1 or the Z1. True, these are definitely more expensive, but both devices still have much better control than the HC1/A1. In the FX1, the audio section is definitely weaker, no XLR and only one controller for both tracks. But I still believe to be synonymous sufficiently well, if necessary, there would still adapter boxes, if you want to work with XLR. The Z1 could halt synonymous XLR.
For the price: if you save when you are doing you no good, is my firm conviction. Ifs So just kind of goes, I would not do that.
