Well, every current sports camera precisely. So, no movie camera, but not synonymous weddings or children's camera. Even a vacation camera would be a definite no-s.Platz. Of course, it should deliver somewhat better quality than before with my SonyHandycam. Not only wants to spend several thousand euros, only to buy just the camcorder is for this purpose for some reason not so suitable.
As mentioned before, I'm (for now, the XL2, used focus) the eye, so if there's nothing speaks against me so I could make time on the search.

16:9 when the XL2 is much better than 4:3. The XL2 has yet 16:9 chips.

in Comparison to XL1/XL1s the XL2 better resolution in 16 / 9 has
da-see above-greater chip! At 4:3 it does not use the whole chip area = less pixels!
In the XL1 it is the reverse-4 :3-chip, at 16 / 9 is only clipped the top and bottom = less pixels
