The Christmas season is approaching and I wanted to buy me a new camcorder for the festival. I have taken the two above models in the eye. If jmd says better models to know which move in the same price frame, I am open to new suggestions synonymous. And please, no advice like "pack yet another 100 ¬ on it ...", then thank you. The HV30 has expired, I do not know if you still get somewhere. Successor is the HV40.
I myself use the HV30 and am very happy with it.
As accessories you should definitely an external Micro and a wide-angle converter with envisage, if not of the old camera still available.
From the video quality, I'm thrilled.

I own the HV30 as a backup camera to my XH A1 and XL H1. I'm really disappointed of the picture quality somewhat. Although sharp as all but say very unorganized and videol.
The dynamics is extremely poor. Where am I at the XH A1 still drawing in bright or dark areas show the HV30 black holes and exposed to the light areas on top of previous total. One can probably expect more of just under 650 euros synonymous not easy. Maybe I'm just too demanding as synonymous.
I read somewhere that the HG20 in this respect is to be a little better.

Have you ever the movies in the HV test mode 30? Since very soft images with high dynamic range come out. Should we stop there in the post sometimes a little crunchy.
I use the HV30 really only in the cinema mode - unless the subject is already out of very low contrast.

The HG20 can you take and ask for my opinion in a very very dark corner. The camera is just garbage.
The handling is even worse as in a HV
it has no normal shoe accessories
For me, this camera is in any case not recommended

The cinema mode the picture is not my soft and distinguished flavor.
25pF framerate but already synonymous goes without cinema mode.

I use the HV30 really only in the cinema mode - unless the subject is already out of very low contrast. Yes. But the cinema mode looks just as if I made the video signal just simply take out the contrast. It is flat. But nothing will change s.der lack Dynamics.
The XH A1 is due to more stops of disposal.
Does it cost more, of course, synonymous. For this you can work with her. The HV30 is only conditionally possible. Constantly one's automatic blunders in between.
