What does the "f" in the description of the Canon XL H1. Is probably the same as "p"?

Hello Axel,
the f stands for the Canon for the "frame" as it was not progressive record, but composed of two fields for a whole frame.

My question in this Asbach-Uralt thread has been answered. The XL H1
and the new successor to the XM-2, the
XH A1 1080i draw either synonymous to the
25f mode, which means that the two fields are recorded simultaneously, what should come very close to a full screen mode.
Has anyone practical experience with this recording type? Especially when editing in Final Cut Pro?

I would be interested in times much synonymous.
I can not imagine it like the whole works to achieve the same look as a Full image
