What has so powerfully done here during my vacation! Respect! Very confortable!
I have finally, finally, a (true) Canon XL1 used to grab at a reasonable price. Great part, great picture quality. Of course, appear here a few questions on the other side of the manual:
01. I inen XLR adapter with shoulder pad there. Why do I need this thing? Is that a connection adapter for studio equipment? We often used? If not, I would prefer to sell it on ebay, instead of it lying around for me. In the studio I will probably do nothing with it. I do not have a video editing station.
02. I would like to transfer from the device via FireWire (IEEE 1394) the whole thing in my PC. An interface (DV in / out) is indeed the sides so far. But I really need the Canon CV-150F FW cable or does it synonymous a "normal" 4pin FW / to 4pin or 6pin FW cable? Has anyone experience?
If there was a gentler method than to use the XL1 as Abspielststation? Do you know better ways / opportunities?
03. Same question on Batteries. Do not synonymous there's generic (6 EUR), quality rather than the expensive Canon (60 EUR)?

You may of course a (maybe) already use the existing Firewire cable - it is clear! What is a genuine Canon s.dem be any different? lol
When the battery issue, the opinions differ, it is certain that a "copycat" can be good times, bad times.
But generally do not mean that any good nothing! In the Canon original (not just Canon ;-)) mostly stuck or luck even with the same battery manufacturers drinne, except that in the other draufsteht not "Canon".
I have made so that no bad experiences, and so keep a determined synonymous its 2-3 years, when he was treated well.
But so is it even with those :-) Batteries synonymous with those of Canon itself ;-)

Addendum to spare: XL1 to your drive a little cheap mini-DV camcorder and buy eindigitalisieren with this.
Then there would the Sony MiniDV For portable players, but will cost around 1000 Euronen ... da tuts a small camcorder provides all the times!

With the cable I wanted to be sure, because I was one was here, but this is not 100% now and I did not fit schrotten the DV jack like my new acquisition. After a few cautious "bending tests" s.Kabel was fluppts nun and an incredibly sharp picture-movie already dubbed. I am thrilled!
Hmm, yes buy, MiniDV camcorder. Actually wanted to start now, time saving with'm ...
The XLR adapter, I will hardly need, & that with the Batteries I see since I buy for my EOS 300D as well.

If you do not have many recordings, and really full right now s.anfang get in, then another would minidv-camcorder stupid, or synonymous (admittedly not thrown out, but) a lot of money ...
