Frage von joey23:Hello,
I have videos on an old Hi8 camera, which I, Magel adapter, not included in the calculator wars in order to cut.
Now I have the following plan: The old Hi8 camera s.meine XL1 via video cable adapter, and the XL1 to play.
Unfortunately cshweigt the Manual relating to "recording of external video source" but, so I do not know whether, and if so, how that could go.
I now have the Internet bissel searched, and there is in the "Practical Handbook for the XL1 / s on Page 138 an ARTICLE about exactly this function. Unfortunately, I have the book does not, and would be reluctant to buy the only reason why.
Can I tell you one of how to do this? That would be totally cool ...
Thanks in advance
Joey

XL1 I have none, but with other Canon devices, such as the XM2 does it this way:
In the menu to AV-in, camera in playback mode. With the AV cable connected analog device running and you can see now the picture on the display. Then on the remote control to Rec
Possibly. supports the XL1 synonymous directly through to the PC. They put you in ke tape, connect the FireWire XL1 by addition with the PC, go as described above. Instead of REC on the remote control you then captures on the PC as usual.

XL1 ... ... menu to AV-in ... Did the XL1 ever have an AV input? I remember dark, that the only successor of the XL1S has gotten.
... Unfortunately cshweigt the Manual relating to "recording of external video source" but from ... Even if not all the capabilities of the XL1 are documented in the manual: An important point of such would certainly be mentioned, if the camera it could be.

The XM2 exact:
Main switch to Play (VCR)
Menu: Set up VCR / AV> DV OUT to ON
Now the display is dark, advance wars blue.
Hast thou NEN AV input? If yes, you can guarantee on the switch, if not no guarantees.

Hm, well, that is explicitly "AV in" I did not. Hold an AV-out. The IR port is synonymous Input and output at the same time ...
Antwort von Bernd E.:
... "AV in" I did not ... Thus, it is unfortunately. A quick search on the Internet brings the certainty that an AV input only when the XL1S is available. The XL1 has not.

If not please most times who practice in the book might look? Thank you

search and you can just write a lot of stupid stuff ....
The XL1 has no AV input .... chinh not synonymous with S VHS. These are just "outputs"
The digital input is the so-called 1394 interface, only through this interface takes the Cam leaked material digitally.

Joey The S forgotten many - the "practice book" seems to have nobody here. Hast thou not a manual, or at least a data sheet. As it is with certainty whether an AV input there. If nothing of an AV input on it is he has not synonymous.

I know only the Manual of the NTSC version, but where is the DV input not only mentioned, there's even a whole chapter about this inclusive list of required settings for recording. I would be very surprised if in the Instructions of the PAL model would be different.
