I've rented since yesterday for a video production for two weeks, the Canon XL1s. In test runs today and yesterday with the action works just fine, but it is not via firewire s.PC recognized.
I have seen many other threads on the topic read here in the forum, but am still not come next.

All interfaces gone in the blink fast if you are not careful. Right now, in winter it is a big issue when the air is dry and the static charge does not degrade as quickly.

A friend of my issue gets in the last few weeks, two external hard disks, because it was static electricity. Such a thing is annoying and expensive!
