I bought the Canon MVX4i and wonder if we can somehow increase the 10x zoom. Has anyone got an idea?

Since the lens is an integral part of this camera, there is no chance to extend the 10-times zoom to 15 - or whatever-fold to. But if you only concerned with more Angleoder Wide Tele to have more, then you can - provided that reach the Canon lens has a filter thread - this simply by screw-prefixes / converter.

I'm there really an absolute amateur. "Does that mean more tele" that I can then zoom in to objects nearer than 10x?

Hello,
Converter with one you are modifying the focal length range of your camcorder by the specified factor. Lenses with factors less than 1 is called wide-angle lenses, telephoto lenses, those with factors greater than 1.
Assuming that your camcorder has a zoom range of 35-350 mm (based on Small), then a lens with a 2.0x zoom range on the (2.0 × 35 =) 70 to (2.0 × 350 =) 700 would mm change. However, although we must dazusagen that many are not suitable for the full telephoto zoom range, since they Vignetti quickly at the slightest Focal (shadows in the corners) are visible.

No no, absolutely. The factor of 10x says nothing else than that the biggest focal camcorder 10x larger than the smallest. Which camcorder actually score closest to the subject, does it not follow.
This, we must compare the absolute focal in millimeters. The larger this value, the more telephoto. Normally, the focal on KB (Small) is relative, because synonymous, the size of the image intensifier is playing a role.
