Hi, bought a cheap Canopus ADVC 1000 and would like to digitize my videos. Question: Since the connection is not common, is what I beötige VCR? And what else do I need: software, etc.

As the only one SDI input, you can just as with professional formats such as Digital Betacam purely direct.
For analogue you need one (expensive) analog to SDI converter, where would you be served with an SDI input card for the better since the conversion of Calculator SDI to DV means a loss of quality.

Thanks for the reply. If there is no VHS recorder I can buy cheap in ebay. Now there is just the JVC BR-S600E. That while other connections - but maybe with some adapters??

No, SDI = Digital, VHS = Analog.
You need a Converter of Analog to SDI, SDI, but these are expensive because the consumer area usually is not used.
The cheapest solution would be the ADVC-1000 and again to repel an ADVC-100 or ADVC-110 instead of buying his.
