Hello everybody,
as a beginner, I am glad your forum to have found and hope now that me on my first steps a little advise.
Have now a lot about HDV cameras and editing software Gelsen and am now on the stand that I use a Canon HV20 and a Canopus DVX buy.
I want as cheaply as possible in HDV filming and the whole thing as quickly as possible and simply s.PC editing. Rotate the objective of music videos. This will I have on DVD and Youtube purely synonymous manner.
Canopus DVX is actually for DV, but HDV synonymous for suitable ... Does this only on the suitability of software (Edius 4.x), or synonymous to the hardware card? What benefits will I get then the hardware card?
And, as far ichs understand that I get with the DVX-HDV solution worked well, but the material of the camera, I must somehow otherwise get into the PC. Is this so? Or does it but on the Firewire port on the DVX?
You see what my questions have actually designed to: Personalize and HV20 Canopus DVX together? I overlooked something? Do I still need what?

No, with Canopus DVX can not HDV recordings in the PC bring.

Ok, then you will So HDV via Firewire to your PC, right?. Can this then perhaps HDVSplit use? And then edit it with Edius ... But does the DVX hardware card then anything, or suitable only for HDV Edius software?

The Good s.der card is that a DV codec and everything is on the Canopus DV material designed. HDV of course, the card can not process - of the purchase would be nonsense.
Alternatively, you can DV footage from your HV20 as a normal output and DV capture and then of course in Edius hardware + cut. That would be my tip - I have HV20 and synonymous to synonymous working in DV, the quality of the pictures is still very very good!
