Here we see only one envelope (no individual peaks, breaks or the background noise is visible) and can cut very badly visually after the sound. This is the biggest "drawback" of EDIUS Pro for my opinion so that is why I work with next premiere, where it has an Excellent waveform display on the soundtrack.

But it always comes on the application. I think in most cases ranging waveform of Edius actually filled and completely. However, I think you're right that the sample-accurate representation of Premiere is still better. When I personally use sowas, however, I am usually in an audio editor and not with the video editing ....

I can not quite understand it all. I've thrown out my capture card and cut now with a simple firewire card without stuttering and other problems and see me in parallel to the picture on the TV monitor. Great quality!

Several outstanding questions for me about this test:
s.Ist the Canopus HQ codec - for example for use in Premiere Pro while - with?
b) Can Edius 3.5 capture HDV footage with scene detection?
c) Is there possibly a separate capture tool?
d) Which HDV cameras are recognized? (Which HDV camera was tested capturing?)

s.Yes, was there. Synonymous dipped in Premiere Pro 2 on the export settings. (together with Canopus DV, Canopus Lossless and Canopus MJPEG).
after b) + c) No, not directly to m2t. There are, however HDVSplit.
I believe in capturing dirketen into a Canopus codec is not.

You probably can, but with the DVX as well as with the Storm 2 to create a DV project, then m2t-load material. From the DVX / Storm 2 will be presented for HDV editing and preview s.Monitor connected TV in PAL for real-time editing. Acting now to cut and s.end with the PCE for EDIUS all of the original print HDV m2t file back into a new file. All this happens with 3-3,2 GHz P4 with no double heart. Wa more could you want as a hobby-Cutter ...
