If I am of my HC7 with Premiere Elements 4 capture, is there a file created by the extension. Mpeg has. With HDV m2t extensions are split. Which file would be because "theory" of better quality and which file format is better suited to cut / edit?

The quality is identical - only m2t is an MPEG2 transport stream, while a program mpeg2 stream is likely to occur. There is theoretically no better or worse - is to tape HDV m2t up as the conversion is lossless.

m2t is actually more difficult to machine - with today's cutting programs already good enough, because even as m2t HDV is recorded.
