Hi All,
I have a little experience with video production, but not with the connection of devices s.Heim PC. So far, I've always had the luxury of properly equipped recorder for DV footage in a small office. Now I have my own private use but for HDV Cam used increased (JVC GY-HD 100) and enough to fill up my account for the proper locking, I have to jump synonymous capture the action of the material.
This occurs following problem: When I play DV material during Calculator boots, recognizes the calculator device (via firewire) as the AV / C subunit in the sub category "reproducing apparatus" in the Device Manager applet. DV material I can then easily capture. However, I try to capture HDV material, I get the hint (device) not conected.
However, I Turn the device only on when the computer is already running, the cam will appear under the same name (AV / C subunit) in the sub category "Audio - Video - and game controllers". In this instance, I can not capture DV - or HDV material.
I've tried it with Vegas 6 VirtualDUB 1.9.5. and from despair synonymous with the Windows Movie Maker.

Computer: Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2,33 GHz with 4 GB of RAM
Firewire port on the motherboard, no special drivers loaded, loaded video codec library from the Internet.
Does anyone of you advice? In search of the forums I found several things to bad cables, broken Fiewire interfaces as well as problems in Windows XP, but since I can capture DV, yes, I rather suspect some other problem (drivers, codecs, software?)

Your camcorder is an exotic car. He can only 720p. That's good, do not let yourself be misled. But he can play almost exclusively his own HDV. And conversely, incidentally. As for HDV capture bitch of other manufacturers, he does not, unfortunately, is good.

If, however, perhaps still in that "special" - HDV the cause? My Vegas is already a bit older (version 6). Perhaps the software does not know this format (layman's terms)?
