Infoseite // Casio EX-Z750 -> Ulead VS 10 -> DVD = Maue quality?

Frage von PeterHB:

Maybe a stupid question, but so far have not found an answer yet.

My Casio EX-Z750 takes up very respectable movies as MPEG4 AVIs.
Editing in Ulead VideoStudio 10 is easy.
Quality when viewing s.Calculator is good (compared with the original material), when I have to render the work again as MPEG4-AVI.

Create But: When outputting to DVD (Menu output video file - DVD PAL) converts Ulead me everything in order to MPEG2, and the result of blur and washed out colors.
Also render direct rendering as MPEG2 (not before as AVI to MPEG4) brings nothing. The result is blurred and washed out as well.

How can I get a better result to DVD?
Can I burn MPEG4 AVI to DVD, and can read a modern DVD player?
Or maybe I do irgedeinen basic beginner mistakes render the MPEG2, which is responsible for this poor quality?

Thank you in advance!

With MPEG4 DVD's you'll have little success, because DVD players are dependent on data MPG2 (720x576 Pal DVD). Maybe it will be a few exotics that can deal with MPG4 maybe .... but certainly is the exception ...

The picture quality is meager s.verwendeten codec and / or used s.der bitrate. Have you used the default settings?

Hi steveb,

Thanks for the prompt reply. MPEG4 to DVD, therefore does not make much sense.

That means I have to somehow improve the quality of my MPEG2s.
I used the default settings (PAL DVD). Synonymous to have little idea at the many options can make meaningful changes. Is there - in addition to the bit rate - other settings, with which it is worth experimenting to erlfolgversprechend (eg vs. VBR. CBR, etc.)?

Have no codec installed by yourself. Will therefore be somewhat standard.

An idea comes to me just yet: The MPEG4 AVI takes up the camera according to Manual with 30 fps. Presumably it is more precisely 29.97 fps. That is NTSC. Can the loss of quality coming from the conversion of NTSC AVIs to PAL DVD? Would it not make sense as an NTSC DVD Author too? And would run as usual in Germany DVD players / TVs?

Thank you,
PeterHB

jepp. ntsc to pal is always fraught with losses. should be a playable synonymous ntsc DVD, but I guess they could jerk. But can represent synonymous of Television must, of course NTSC. Therefore, it is probably a prior conversion to make more sense.

Since I was kindly asked to post the final solution to my problem, here is my final approach:

I burned a NTSC DVD (with 2-pass render as MPEG2, switched to VBR, max. 8000 KB / s). The result of running on my DVD player and, surprisingly synonymous on my television (Thomson, year 96).
The Picture looks good, no Comparison to the fuzzy, muddy picture, which I had obtained after the conversion to PAL. No jerking.

The question remains whether the hardware synonymous with grandma, grandpa, uncle and aunt, where you and then when a DVD with the latest gift from the young shoot, get along with this solution.

All those who want to save the trouble had come to respect the outset of that can record the Cam in the PAL standard.

Precisely for this reason, the new Z 1000 synonymous 25 frames in the video function, but it still has a maximum with digital zoom.
