Frage von Kamcorder:Hello!
Despite studies from various sources, I am still not entirely clear how the different formats together (square / rectangular pixels, 720/768/786x576, ...)
I would be grateful to you for tips.
The aim of my current project:
16:9-film from 4:3 source + computer + digital effects
The 4:3 picture to 16:9 should not be enlarged, but the margins are filled with special effects or are parallel strands simultaneously (a la TV series "24").
1. According to my understanding, I have 720x576 in raw DV format (which is rectangular and corresponds to a square 786x576?).
2. The photographs are, I suppose, rectangular pixels and have sufficient resolution.
3. Computer generated or imported bitmaps are also my understanding, after quadratically.
Is there now the correct value 786x576 or 768x576 for 4:3? And what is the correct width for 16:9? 4. After Effects gives me a composition as a preset max. 768x576 at (synonymous for widescreen). That is the main reason for my confusion. So far there has been for me only the width 720 (rectangular) and 786 (square).
Which setting is optimal for 16:9? I work with:
* Adobe Premiere 7
* Adobe After Effects 5.5
* Misc bitmap / vector-based drawing programs and Renderer
Lieben Gruß aus Wien

Computergenerated bitmaps can be used as synonymous square rectangular pixels. Here it is important to know with what settings the image was rendered. - On imported bitmaps to meet the same.

If the video sequences from AE in a DV project to be processed would be 720 × 576 pixels with a pixel aspect ratio of 1.422 optimally. This corresponds exactly to what a 16:9-DV camcorder to material supplies. This should have a template AE à la DV PAL 720 × 576 widescreen 1.422.

Hello Mark!
Thanks for the reply.
I am now of my projects and adopted to create the film in 4:3, because
1. the number of pixels in the end it remains the same and only in the 16:9 aspect ratio of rectangular pixels is different (ie no quality gain)
2. Special effects for the tremendous amount of time it goes up to Christmas and I want to be done (with this and yet another film).
Friendly greeting
