I have a Panasonic NV-GS400 with which I've taken to Thailand. 4 cassettes fully filmed and now a bit like the whole cut. But I am unfortunately a complete Beginners in the field of DV editing. The camera has a cinema mode - ie black bars above and below is (I do not think really 16:9 but 4:3 is that right?). So .. and I think that was a fatal mistake to include it. If I want to capture with my video in Premiere is indeed wonderful. But if we decide to conduct effects or color correction, then it turns to me not only the image area but just synonymous these black bars? Actually, even logical, because the picture just synonymous to one ... what can I do about it now? Can you save more? Clearly, the effects could only be applied to a selected area, but that's too cumbersome. Hoping for your help!

Hmm, that's the cheap-16: 9, where the Picture is cut off just above and below.
Rescue garkeine problem is, it's enough to edit the project, normally, and then render the finished movie
1. either the beam with a mask (Picture with alpha layer that is transparent)
2. or with the definition of the framing
re-issue.

You can specify synonymous when exporting from Premiere with a trim. This is one of the parameters that are next back in the setting windows. ;-)
But tell me how you export this film in the 16:9 format? But the losses are clearly visible ...
