Infoseite // Computer and software for HDV

Frage von Werny:

Hello, I'm going in a month in the Middle East had gotten a job there. I will work with the Sony Z1 and have the ability and computer software for the company to order. Of course I want to work in HDV mode, the question arises:
What kind of computer can you recommend me, and I switch Solte on a Mac or continue to work with Microsoft? I'm busy at the time still with my Sony laptop, and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, but as I said, I can lease new computers and software for the firm order.
I am grateful for every response!

If you stay with APP2, I'd get me the exact product specifications for APP of the Adobe Page - and then let me build a cut-PC under these specifications from the dealer together.

Maybe a real-time map would be synonymous not a bad idea - indeed some of APP2 will support the Matrox cards.

If there should be no more APP2, such as the Canopus solutions synonymous stood open as an option because it cuts halt with Edius 3.6x (coming Edius 4), which for HDV editing is of course very well.

If a total synonymous depends on what you can spend and want.

How about if I was from the Mac G5 order and still work even with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, lasts a good solution or should it be better to switch to Final Cut Pro?

I'm obviously biased and rate to the Mac. The advantage of an original Apple is surely not the nicer chassis, but the better OS. Better in this case means that, while not infinite, and for a wide range s.Konkurrenzsoftware same work there, but the most professional auto product either of Apple itself, or of a few other vendors (Adobe, Steinberg), of course, is often synonymous in the upper price ranges. With an Intel Mac, it would be quite possible in the near future, the "best of both worlds" to have, although it is in the Windows case, this would probably act more like small, exotic tools.

If you want to use you and AAP is located next to the switch makes no sense. The editing program is probably the "key application", and with After Effects and Photoshop is synonymous work on Macs. I myself would think the switch to a PC, not long after Tiger and Final Cut running out first class.

Thank you very much for the answers!
It is probably pretty boring answer such questions, but if you are not so well then who knows this forum is simply top. And bring those answers then next one already. I stopped thinking s.Mac because many speak of Mac Pros. The entire range of Adobe, I find it very pleasant to work, but I would like to try synonymous times the Final Cut Pro. pure curiosity
Lieben Gruss Werny :-)

Because we are loath to repeat, I recommend you two to watch three short videos about Final Cut Pro. http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio
There you will find Usein film in which the BBC is talking about their use of Final Cut Pro.
Here (http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/quicktours) du synonymous get a good introduction video (some say synonymous advertising) means that Final Cut Pro displays pretty well. Final Cut isz now the number 2 for Avid. Many great films, production companies and TV stations have Final Cut in use. The thing is pretty widespread.
Why buy a Mac? But he is just expensive? Not quite. Take five minutes time and read by you, why are you a Mac could switchen (http://www.apple.com/de/switch).
Synonymous, I would recommend a visit to an Apple store. There are many grave branches in Germany. There I would be a tour of some of the operating system and Apple's Programs ask, or the offer to anyway.

A Mac is not an expensive freak thing. He is not slow or extremely expensive. That usually quiet, comfortable and stylish. Along with Mac OS X and Apple's programs for me and many convinced Friends clearly the better choice. But lenses: over the fence. What at first appears as a little-known solution is not, being so small and unknown to mankind ..., you will trust and emancipated;)

The superficial handling of Windows and MacOS both learned quickly, but if there are any problems (and this is for computers only a matter of time) knows, one with the operating system, with the longer one has been working to help better and faster. Who has been cutting for example, 3 years s.einem Mac, is not without need to switch to PC, because this would require a new orientation and would not be conducive to productivity. Many small problems that are the usual system long passed into flesh and blood, we must re-think up at the other. The same is true for the experienced PC-cutter, of which I would advise against an unnecessary switch to Mac. Even more extreme would make a double switch (OS + noticeable editing software).
Okay, if you change the workplace and equipment from the new employer "other camp" has, one must just take this training period. But if you can decide for themselves over the system, is the familiar made up the better choice (unless you are in) so totally dissatisfied.

That is such a point - a double shift - on both Mac and Final Cut Pro - the same time requires dual Learn. This would think I am well, if I want to do this to me. Today's PC solutions are no longer really bad, so that a stable and reliable work is quite possible.

On the other Page I'm doing it hard on the issue - I have no Mac experience, perhaps it would be worth it, yes. But where do you get her as a serious Comparison, which is characterized not by a massive "personal preference to their own system? That's just more difficult ...

But where do you get her as a serious Comparison, which is characterized not by a massive "personal preference to their own system? There are already some professionals who have equal experience in both. Their verdict is synonymous compensated fairly; of Operating Page, there is simply no relevant difference - the main thing to get along well as users of it - especially in case of driver problems, etc.
In the editing programs, the differences are even greater, but there is plenty of choice for both systems. Whether Final Cut Pro is so brilliant and outstanding that it's worth a change in the operating system, I would highly doubt it.
If you compare several softwares, it comes in addition to general characteristics such as stability and speed synonymous much on the concrete film projects. If a professional cut mainly promotional videos, he has other requirements established as one of the documentary films from dozens of hours of material. A general recommendation is there is hardly possible.
There are also personal ways of working, who still has experience of film editing, quite different approach is s.ein cutting project as a young computer geek or someone who s.linearen cutting 3-machine editing suite has learned. For one filmmäßige function names we are "A-Reel" or "Bin" very clear and a great relief, for others just an annoyance and an extension of the learning curve (and is) only a small example.

Clearly, the philosophies are massively different. Whoever with a storyboard "grown up" is looking for something. Anyone who has just learned to cut into the timeline, which is again no preference. Halt Depends what you want.

For the Mac world, I can not say anything wiegesagt - but in the PC world we have today a total of countless good choice for NLEs. But many are still struggling with just really good HDV implementations that come to relating to back, in sum, I currently know of hardly a editing program, which provides in this area no longer weaknesses. In this regard with the relevant upgrade running round just yet - we have APP2 the MSP8, LE too little I know, but Vegas7 and Edius4 are pending. And just think now I have Edius HDV range for extremely strong.

So if you want to be a professional editing suite, with one class 1 HD CRT monitor via component, it really should anyway with only a corresponding map to the appropriate output options. Then we speak of equal times from 6000 to 7000 Euros, maybe more, depending. That should not be overlooked.

The myths about the Macintosh and its new operating system, unfortunately, turn out in practice (vsim interconnections) as misguided. I work in the context of my studies in a Mac network. the latest on the stand. Nevertheless, there is eg in Final Cut Pro, QuarkXPress, or very often lead to instability, which can greet you in 80% of cases the whole operating system with pull down -> blue screen. Make a DVD with DVD Studio Pro is only possible in cases of happiness. Define not synonymous, since several visits of Apple service people all let alone resolve it could, I assume that the Unix core of OS 10.x is simply not yet mature. In standalone mode may be different, is a professionally operated within a network Mac "system" to remain inside the worm.

A Windows PC with the same efficiency as a Mac will cost about 75% of the price, is just as quietly and simply has a bigger and better say durhc strong competition price / performance-software selection. If you can deal with APP eh, just stay in the Windows world.

Greeting
Fragile, by the way, his Mac laptop likes to use:)
