Frage von mbwkrause:I need an Expert views. My desktop computer is already aged a bit, I have an AMD Athlon 64x 2 Dual Core Processor 4400 + 2.19 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. OS XP Pro. I cut with Vegas 8.0 mxf-files of my JVC HM100 and recently more and more synonymous material of a 5D Mark II or a 550D. Understandably, my calculator is like this sometimes in the knees. I have at the moment but no money to buy myself a i7 ... Here is the question: Does a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit make sense? And then I could still tuck 8 GB RAM and better? Or would that not even run clean, because processor too old and too lame? Ideally, I would thus spend around 200 euros and then get another year to make ends meet ... Utopia or reality?
Thank you!

I knew with amd-calculators wants too little from and therefore not be a rat.
But throw away is nonsense in any case. you could sell the computer charge for non-monetary s.einen little second-hand. so would your wallet and the urmwelt better served than if the vehicle scrap on the land.

Yes, of course. With the trashing was only a head. A few things from the old calculator could be so synonymous block in a new ... Only I have just the moment a maximum of 200 Euro, to make it faster ...

Hi have the same situation like you and also ask me the question. My 4400 + is Socket 939 Question is just whether you get all the motherboard drivers for Win 7 to get the thing to work. What is with 32bit software on 64bit OS and Calculator?
Antwort von Bildstabilisator:
As with most video editing programs, either the CPU or the GPU is the bottleneck would probably be invested here accordingly. Certainly more Arbeistspeicher something smoother operation is possible. But I would wait a bit and then with about 500 ¬ I put on a new system with Win7. A I5 Mainboard enough perhaps synonymous already out and is not quite as expensive.

With Windows 7, it is definitely NOT better run.
Best choice would be to upgrade to a more potent AMD system - it is not always a Core i7.
With a normal, reasonable AM3 motherboard of ASUS (about 100 Euro rum, max. 150) and a CPU like the AMD Phenom II 955 or 965 (130) you need only DDR3 memory. Since the beginning I would first go with 4 GB - 2x 2GB 1066er (faster memory brings in higher costs a ridiculous speed gain). Later, you can still upgrade to 8 GB should - but then of vornerein to Win Sony Vegas 7 64 set including 64-bit.
At the end you would before a system related to approximately 400 to 450 euros and costs for the h.264 files completely sufficient.
