Hello,

I'm looking for an alternative to the import of clips into the Avid MC. Is there a software or method, with which it is possible for imports into a movieclip MXF format and convert it directly over the Media Tool to import?

I came up with the idea when I post here

Avid does NOT re-encode you do when a "almost" import, it just copies the file to the Avid Media Files folder (or folder OMF) in its own format. So basically it's speed drive that is the limiting factor.

If you want faster, i can create something that will create files inside s.Avid Avid Media Files folder so you just have to open the media tool to get them into your bin. You therefore can have a project, I name, and time reelname code attached to the clip.

But that only works for specific resolutions / codecs.

I take it you're in NTSC, what codecs do you use?
And, what platform are you on?

Your problem may be the "SonyClipBrowser" free of the Sony website to load, can solve!
