Hi. I've ne DCR-HC42 increased. Now I have the rolling video on ner nen old VHS tape that I will be happy, transfer it to your camcorder. So I've bought an S-VHS cable and then go to the camcorder. Picture appears to me synonymous-unfortunately only in black-wei. When I go in via the video input, I get shown in color. Settings in the menu I made for S-VHS, but unfortunately gehts net. But since I absolutely want to use S-VHS for a better quality, I hope I can help one.

Here then is asked again and again. So shortly:
VHS = Composite signal SVHS SVHS signal = = Y / C signal
Your VHS recorder is only a composite signal (2-pin cable is required). You transmit the signal with a (4-pin) Y / C cable, then you just get a mono-Picture. Ergo: Take the composite cable, a better quality does not provide VHS anyway.
