Hi Folks,
I've more or less an issue in the solution of which I hope for your help!
So, the following situation:
I want to buy a camcorder because I simply fun filming! Of course, only a hobby.
In any case, I did not genaug money to buy me a camera and need to convince my dad so that he gives me the Money! But he wants to halt precisely to know everything.
Now I'm ready, that I look at the Panasonic NV GS75 ausgeguckt. My dad, however, think that is lossy on tape recorded material!
I would now like to know me, how does the recording on MiniDV cassettes. Is it really Lossy?

Is it really Lossy? This was true for the analog days, but with MiniDV you need not fear that the tape recordings significantly affected by (digital) copies or (digital) post-processing.

Your dad is always right.
Between optical imaging and digital storage of the motive on the tape (chip, DVD, hard drive) while putting more and lossy compression. This is going on in the conversion of optical into the electrical information (PAL, color space) and go with the next encoding.
But, then you can, the digital data - unlike the old analog technology weiterkopieren Lossless -. Mark has already written. In any case, ideally, when no equipment or media damage occurs ;-)

Vivi Unlike other recording techniques (I assume most, your dad would be) effectively negates the "loss" is very low. If the data is recorded on a DVD, memory card or hard drive
Camcorderintern, then there is by using compression higher losses than in the recording using a mini DV tape.

The camcorders that record to DVD, MiniDV to take to attend, but to go MPEG-2, where the transformation still lost a lot more data. I think that is partly to see s.Material, and is suitable for cutting normal MPEG2 not good, because, unlike DV compresses each frame by itself is not.
Interestingly, haunted by normal-informed buyers always have the information with, so that DVDs deliver such a great image quality synonymous what they do, but it is compared with the old VHS tapes. so yes come synonymous so many old movies now out on DVD again. If I jump extremely None blackens / runtermacht every seller and set down my chain as a fool - especially because a small error / - then it's ok.
I recently stood in Video 8 (8mm cartridge when used with a Digital 8 camcorder) tapes right time wrong, although I had to know it actually, I confess ....
Such errors happen to me but not often synonymous.
