Frage von Der Gastfrager:I would like to see like a big, external hard drive for DV editing growth. Because I like s.PC AND s.MAC work would eigenltich would only have a network hard drive in question. My question is: Are the access times ever enough?
With gigabit lan so I do not have to worry about data rates, as DV and HDV only to 25MBit / s. ... Has anyone experience with the access times?
Have read somewhere that the TCP / IP protocol is not straight and was the fastest man on a Teiber using another protocol could access, which offers faster access times. However, I believe that there is a certain hard drive acted.
I'd really like to here of LaCie:
www.lacie.com/de/products/product.htm?pid=10882
It has an additional USB 2.0 port, on the up again no problem, but the disk is formatted Mac and Windows is barely readable over USB ...
On the Mac with Firewire 800, the LaCie Big Disk (Desktop-plates) a peak transfer rate and access times super!
Thank you in advance!

Instead of NAS (Network Attached Strager) would be the NDAS (Network Direct Attached Storage). Can even faster. There must, however, then the implementation of NDAS driver, very clean. Know synonymous solutions asleep almost as the face. Kommt halt drauf synonymous so s.was else is happening on the LAN.
Then there would be yes, but even eSATA. That may be because once again the conflict of Win-Mac's is possible. With MAC had nothing to do so I NTFS.
Is there no reasonable volumes to both win and mac to run? That would be an innovation times.
eSATA or FW Gbit LAN is always preferable. But 1xHDV should already be possible. Finally, take for multicam edit synonymous pro "Cam", a separate hard drive.

I would advise against it. The performance is bad. Gigabit Ethernet is not so fast. Which in turn is fast, the SANs are received via FibreChannel s.spezielle cards are connected. Around the:
