Frage von surfer_joma:I wanted to join meie DV Camera (SonyDHCR-HC17E) s.meinen PC via Firewire. Although ok at first glance, the installation was, was the DV Camera not detected. Ie in the device manager to appear when connecting the camera no entry under Imaging devices. Different cuts programs recognize the device will not synonymous.
I then tried unsuccessfully all possible variations:
- Connection of another device - unlike cable - other firewire card
- Another PCI slot.
For the Firewire card I have in Gerätemmanger an IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers Entry
"VIA OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 host controller" and an AC adapter entry "1394-AC adapter.
I also have XP / SP2 incl Patch WindowsXP-KB904412-v2-x86-ENU.
I know no more next, can someone help me. Thanks in advance

From your description is not clear whether you want to connect the camera in order to dubbing of video data or as a webcam.
For the former you need to turn on the camera and set to Play (play), the latter is only possible with relatively few cameras, whether with your Sonygeht I do not know.
Otherwise, you will find in this forum thread and moderately solutions to your topic.

Hello,
as a supplement and as a response to the anmerkung of gast1:
I would like to dub video data to your PC. I have already dubbed hinbekommen successfully via USB cable.
With the video capture tool of Soni is not able to be transferred via USB but with camera control, only AVI with reduced resolution
Magix Video Deluxe 2005, no detect USB device.
With Ulead VideoStudio 8, although I have no camera but I can control with handling s.der camera itself via USB to transfer into different formats (AVI, MPEG1, ...) and various resolutions. Not to go this route. With camera control from a PC, it would be even nicer. Greeting surfer_joma

Here perhaps indicative of the problem. I had a similar problem with a dv camera s.firewire connection. because at first I was too lazy to crawl under the table and a firewire cable to connect directly s.den pc, I just plugged in the adapter cable series to an external drive. After the camera was not recognized there, I have plugged a firewire cable clutch s.das firewire from computer. synonymous unsuccessful. the camera after I've plugged directly s.den computer, it worked. I assume that the dv connection is very sensitive and a longer cable or zwischenadapter not command accepts. After the camera via a short firewire cable directly puts s.rechner, everything will go smoothly.
