Infoseite // DV footage to H.264. Pixel aspect ratio like?

Hello dear forum.

Bin grad a little confused with the pixel aspect ratio.

Have old tapes digitized and recorded it in DV format.

These videos are now dependent on the PAL 720 x 576 And so have a pixel aspect ratio of 1, .. something else.

Now I want to convert to H.264. The ratio is 4:3. Let it be synonymous, would cut anything.

I want it now as H.264 for archiving on the PC and burn again as MPEG2 to DVD.

For the PC, I do not know now I have to choose which aspect ratio. Can we somehow convert it to 1:1 aspect ratio?

Have Premiere CS5. stretched without distorting the will. What should I set as now?

Can you recommend me something?

You could by means of container (MP4, MKV) the correct aspect ratio for the video set without changing the pixels.

Alternatively you can of course adjust the width of the material so that it is correct pixels.

First method is the easiest if you want to pull out of the later material is still DVDs, etc. The second method is the most compatible, just as not all players on the embedded-day eight aspect ratio (Aspect Ratio).

This is Pal 4:3 1:1 aspect ratio, you must select a Resolutionvon 768x576 pixels.

So just save as MP4? With H.264 encoding and set to square pixels?

Quasi create a project in Premiere with 768 x 576 for 4:3 with square pixels? And 720 x 405 16:9 for example? I understand this correctly?

Habs grad tried seems to work relatively well. Thanks guys:)


Can someone give me tips how to create a DVD? An introduction tutorial for Adobe Encore example?

What format must be taken here is to be considered? Must be selected here for the Television weider a pixel aspect ratio?

this is me degrees synonymous not entirely conclusive.
786 x 576 would be yes not entirely in 4:3 ratio.

What is wrong s.768 x 576?


I feel that pixel aspect ratio on the nerves. Why is that?

It's logical that 768x576 is 4:3.
