I would try to claim the warranty with Manufacturer. If warranty does not apply to at least get a letter with "unfortunately no warranty, it costs ... shall we?"
If you have messed up a DV cable of've used a third-party, the cable can be synonymous (Male) to connect.
In that case I would probably synonymous to address the cable manufacturer or seller, if it is not a 08/15 cable from the dozens available and manufacture in the Far East.
