Hi,
"LG" is a pretty good brand (I have synonymous, but do not know what exactly ;-)), and can play the synonymous.
However, you need to get this software yet. The Windows Media Player plays DVDs in the series did not state.
This software is usually, but every burning program (Nero is usually bundled) in the case.

How much do you pay for the burner? The H55N should namely the "current" to be. LG is very good, had two and are still (where else) in use. Solid, burn well. Burning software (Nero 6 or Nero 7 Essentials) as is usually said when. :-)
