Hi folks,
I have looked on eBay a used DAC-100 concerned - although with some traces of use, but that is not me.
I have before, so in combination with a Panasonic S-VHS (+ TB) VHS recordings to play on. The synonymous to me, I must still care!
As I have the DAC-100 with the analog outputs of my DV-Cam have tested, I was initially happy with the good picture on FBAS!
But then the bad surprise: NO PICTURE ON S-VIDEO!
Now the question, I have something wrong? The device should auto detect whether CVBS or Y / C arrives.
A return s.den seller seems to me to be excluded, so I opened the device, but I can not contact problem s.der jack see what I can fix itself would :..-(
If there is no solution to the problem, it is still in a Panasonic VCR with TBC to invest and then just over FBAS on capture?
Please help me!

1. What have you been playing for? Are you sure that an S-video signal is sent (conversion in the player)?
2. Do you have any to CVBS input supply left? Sometimes priorities for devices in the circuit with.
3. Is there a manual switch? (Certainly not, because otherwise you would have already found the safe)
4. Maybe the cable is broken?
I know, unfortunately the device does not, but the popular things are often sources of error.

I have been playing on the one of a DV camcorder and a digital DVB receiver, both as synonymous CVBS S-Video. The two outputs of the devices are always active, can not be switched off.
When S-video attempt, I had NO FBAS cable! A manual switch, there are not synonymous. Halber security I have with two different cables, tried - without success. On television everything works fine!
So it seems something in the unit to be defect?

In fact so. If you are lucky, maybe it is just a broken solder s.der Hosidenbuchse. If there is more to be sure it will be expensive, since you will probably only lead to a workshop.

What, however, I would like to strongly advise against is the second-hand purchase from eBay with Advance! Recently there is news that more and more sellers defective equipment as "new and fully functional" auction, in striking degree. If already have a camcorder on eBay auction, then necessarily personally go to the function of ability to convince, and only pay for the device with them.
Here are a few examples of deterrence:

But I must, unfortunately, made him the line of services! The donkey I was!
I discovered that on the front panel before the book about 2mm thick plastic ring hangs and the S-Video Male prevent completely into the jack to slip. Now I have the board open and operate the S-Male without front bezel completely plugged in - and lo and behold, a perfect S-Video Picture!
Because the DAC is needed anyway, I have a cutter with s.der drill the plastic front bezel ring s.der clean weggefeilt. Klappts Now!
So sorry that I have harassed you, and not to the seller scold. :-)
