Where I once heard a long time ago that the stress of the brand new video heads is higher through videotapes, as if the same tape for a second, third or fourth time will be recorded. On the first pass, the sand brand tape s.den video heads s.and shall not receive its optimal properties.
Whether this is still the case today, however, I do not know.
