Frage von Päx:Hello,
I have now read it twice in this forum that the depth of field related synonymous with the size of the image intensifier, and not just with the Aperture. These statements have in the forum, however, denied again and again. I wanted to ask whether now really is a connection between chip size and depth of field or not.

Hello Päx,
time, a look at Wikipedia.de and to give the familiar concepts.
A smaller CCD has a larger depth of field than a larger CCD or CMOS.
Even here in this forum is always the really great depth of field at Einsteigercam's eg 1 / 6 tries to devalue "in order to obtain cinema feeling as with 2 / 3" CCD, so that a certain "fuzziness exists and the picture does not look very sterile . Of course, a progressive recording supports synonymous. Or a 35 mm adapter.
I was for a time synonymous not sure one can not know everything, but I have inquired at Wiki or my boss again.

Moin,
It is true that the depth of field (or depth) is indirectly related with the size of the picture - meaning: indirectly.
The depth is mainly dependent on two factors of:
1. Aperture
2. Focal
The Focal is the crucial point.
An example: You have a house films of the top to the bottom with a 35mm camera. Moreover, you will have screwed one lens with a focal of 19mm in your camera. The angle here is about 60 °.
To get the same Full Resolution Sample (floor to top of the house) to a smaller image size (eg 1 / 2 "CCD), the optics must logically be much more wide-angle.
In the example of 1 / 2 "CCDs You need to have a 5.9 mm Optics!
And as we know: the wide-angle, the focal, the greater the depth of field.
So is concluded that the indirect relationship between chip size and depth.
I hope that was somewhat understandable. If not: ask for pleasure ...

Sebastian
PS small addendum to all "professionals" I am well aware that I have given you some things in the technical terminology is not entirely correct. This, however, I have expressed in favor of the intelligibility deliberately simplified ...
Before anyone comes up with the idea aufzuwäremen the nonsensical depth - depth discussion again not Please! ;-)
