Frage von Klausie:Hello,
through the digitization of Hi8 recording was posted in this forum so much and so I bought myself have had a recent SonyDCR-TRV 210E Digital8 camcorder on eBay, with which it was supposed to be easily possible according to various posts, as it provides an IR output (iLink) has digital outputs and analog tapes recorded on this output. But although I now the camcorder with the appropriate 6-to-4-pin FireWire cable with my Mac was connected, he will not communicate with iMovie (version 4.0.1). There is always the message "No connection with Camera" is displayed. I've been looking, of course, been synonymous in the iMovie Help menu advice, but the proposed measures have unfortunately not led to success.
Maybe you know someone here with the so-called hard-and software components and can help me (which I would be delighted, of course, very).
Thanks in advance
Klaus

Hello Steve,
Thanks for the answer.
- Camera in the "Play Mode"?
Yes, I have the camera set to the setting "Player".
- Cable OK? (there are in the Geizmärkten Billigschrott who did not or only sometimes) works
Cable is of Hama with 16 ¬ and was not exactly cheap. (But it could certainly be broken anyway. But how do I determine this?)
I was able to connect the camera today in a radio business s.einem DVD Recorder (using 4 - to 4-pin FireWire cable) and say here is that the DV-output of the camera actually works. On the s.den DVD recorder was the TV connected to analog Hi8 tape recorded movie to see.
Then the error was only s.Programm iMovie lie, or at least s.Kabel, right?
