I fluctuate between the purchase of a SonySR11 or 12 or Canon HF 10 (0). The decision was actually for the Sony Gefallen, until I noticed is that the 1980x1080 Canon Camera can record in 25P, but not the Sony.
Looks 25P material on a panel / Beamer felt better than 50i? On the one Page, the panel of course no longer deinterlacer, on the other page is 25P during rapid movements somewhat 'jerky', because the time resolution is only half as large as in 50i is.
Question 1: Are the above assumptions, true or there are other aspects that I've overlooked?
Question 2: Can someone tell me whether and when 25P on a panel looks better than 50i material?

25p looks on an LCD projector or never "better", because it is more jerky. True is universally progressive scan, only if the standard is 50p. 50i is currently in most cases the best compromise.
24p/25p is mostly an effect ( "film look") and has some justification for specific applications (web-video, film exposure FAZ). For playback of normal video, it is rather counter-productive.
