I help a friend who still has no experience with video editing and are einarbeitet just in Pinnacle Studio 10th With the cut s.sich he gets along slowly, but dealing with directories and files overwhelmed him.
He uses any JVC camcorder with hard drive (SD, MPEG2). There was probably a software process of which one copy with the contents of entire hard-drive camcorder in one go on the calculator can. However, this hard-drive camcorder has now been well filled, and sometimes he would like to download only single, newly filmed stuff.

Ideal would be something like this: He sticks to the camcorder via USB, a download program opens, he clicks on it somewhere and get all the clips that have been added since the last download, copied to the hard drive.

What is a "Ladies" - Digital Anaphabetic user or something Yes, something like that. :) It's still all to
this gentleman. Since my post then a lot has changed, and he has meantime, a new camcorder and a new computer. The initial incorporation into Pinnacle Studio (version 8, now at version 10) is moving forward. Now lacks only of "small stuff".

PS: I've been destined to more than 30 computers installed - Newbie of up to Pro I was able to convince anyone that it is worth it. Because virtually foolproof and super easy to use.
You must / should give your friend then just a short cut to the desktop so he put the source (target) folder right place.
