Frage von Pride:God to Grusse first,

for the application a.einer film school I was planning a film about the growing disregard of older people to shoot. The mailing lists is already more or less, but I'm still thinking about the moment in lighting design: What kind of light makes a scene dramatic? (Sample scene: Old woman looks at herself in the mirror or sitting pensively on the sofa ...) Should I use of a priori as possible low light and do only with small light sources, the scene atmospheric or try the whole thing as flat as possible to film and I then making work in the mail? Among the latter, I must say that I have the results I've seen so far, this method was not very convincingly, but maybe some of you have other experiences

It says nothing against the light "flat" hold, only the target must be visible. if it were purely throws contrast, should come halfway look like it would have liked.

You simply take the 3 point illumination such as hold, the lightening of dark and you've got your direction approximately.

contrasts with other work shadow, shadow here, there.

It is difficult to respond to something like that, without exactly knowing the mood of the filmes, of the room or time (night, day).
Antwort von Pride:
At night it is so, in my opinion at least, easier to present a slightly depressed, lonely mood. Therefore, I would be you / grateful if you would respond more to the lighting during the day.

The mood of the movie should play a mixture of pride and loneliness.

Thanks for the tip ever with the contrasts, I have ever had a clue.
