The recording time all depends on the size of the memory card, because you do not worry about. When pan is completely no preference which sits on the Camera Tripod. Wss your friend must be clear is this: The control units are really only use when shooting halfway!

Eos 500 d. .. ... I'm not sure if the zoom synonymous liquid ... The 500D uses - like any other camera of its kind - camera lenses, and are not intended to zoom during recording. Okay, that one should do anyway only rarely, but sometimes it's interesting. Whether and how since hinbekommt a fluid zooming depends on the specific lens and the skillful hands of the cameraman off. Ideal is certainly something different and much better control the camcorder.

(On the fly:
1st Over-sharpened, jaded and see contrasting scenes in the first moment of good, but on closer inspection, full of artifacts, and the flat picture style that is better suited to see the display of the muddy and difficult focusing.
2nd White Balance and correct exposure are essential, but not as easy as with cams.
3rd For each lens, the risk increases during the recording is not visible dust on the sensor.
