No, it can not (pure HD Camera and HD always in 16:9)

if only 16:9 recordings are possible (which I do not know), then you can easily but with FinalCutStudio2 after convert 4:3. Obviously you can 4:3-recording a DV camera after converting 16:9. This is like
made at the ARD broadcaster.

sure you can have one of auschnitt HD picture and take it out of 4:3. You have to stop to watch the film to the correct picture.

Now the 4:3 frame is displayed as a help. Already creepy, as "narrowed" the field of view is.
