Parallel record in various formats is not synonymous.

DV is 25 Mbps, HDV synonymous. EX has 35 Mbps. Hardly any difference, right? For at least three years, normal office computer, the process with virtually no performance difference if the right software. Experience teaches that it is very useful to cut themselves then in HD, if you only need SD, because SD is this better.
