Hello everybody,
who has experience with the Canon XL2?
Especially I would be interested if the autofocus is not as bad as when XL1s. I have my XL1S resold because of its poor autofocus. I got me dan one XM2 increased and can not complain.
But now I want to grow one XL2 as I need another cam. In dealing with the XL1s I was satisfied wiegesagt but the auto focus was terrible.
Now, yes everyone raves about, but None of the XL2 can call me a review.
Can someone help me here?

yes, I am now are one week owner a xl2 but a used (but is no different) ^ ^. And so how am I to say what is very very fat but honestly not the biggest differences to make xl1! The XL2 is faster has a 20x fold instead of a 16x objective. the 500,000 pixels per ccd differed not seen really strong! but this should not be pejorative. On the contrary, the canon xl series is simply just fat! dazusagen what I need is that it provides an incredibly good in lowlight recording! So the xl2 is only recommended! I have not got a long time to decide to mcih!

Recently gabs in Ebay for just under EUR 3000 new equipment. (incl. VAT & Warranty)
The camera is ansolut class, but unfortunately it quite difficult when one is on its way so long - 3.5 n.with Optics.
And as a quasi - shoulder camera, unfortunately, not exactly inconspicuous, which can make schonmal common problems, keyword filming permit ..

alternative: DVX - not a true 16:9, lower Resolutionaber film look out of the box, easy to
FX-1 - HDV, rather Videolook (Faben & interlaced), higher resolution, very low noise in low light.
XL2 rustles not negligible in low light!

I do not know see how the others, but if you want to have to buy a XL2, but then you just s.den usual focus on M (manual) face. My experience shows that the autofocus is relatively well under normal lighting conditions, but always a little inclined to pump (especially when zooming). In low light (concerts, theater, etc. ..) you have to rely on your manual dexterity. Needs some settling down, but you'll see that it is worth.

So I work überweigend with manual focus, if I get put on auto focus, I just zoom in, sometimes detected a slight pumping. However ehr irrelevant.

Honestly, you need to switch the camera for specific shooting the optics to be able to? Most would say no. They have not even a change to the optics. Hmm, why is there so much money to spend? Just because she is a shoulder camera? Have you Microphones with XLR connection? Synonymous but they are not necessary. Frankly, I am now become a fan of the Canon XL2 or SonyVX2001. With the LCD screen and not the force they have to make up totally new to the Schluter bildgestalterische Perspektieve shoulder with the camera so are not possible.
