Frage von miriad:Hello everybody!
I am now studying for a week and landed this great forum with the help (I earlier had absolutely NO idea of camcorders!) Finally, the Panasonic GS180 and the Canon MVX35i. If I buy individual reports and information about the two devices. Compared directly, but it has apparently still None, since the two have appeared probably for quite different.
As matters stand now with the picture quality? Which is better? The technical differences I know of. But maybe someone can also hire a comparison of experience on quality and functionality in general.
What I can not quite at rest, is the lack of DVin slot of the Panasonic. Do I need the wirlich? Why should I rather restore them to the Camera? I do not quite understand ...
Thankful for every tip! Welcome, MIRIADE
Antwort von Acer:
Hi, erstmal,
the DV - In "slot" you need to cut replaying your films on MiniDV tape, and archiving can make it better than on DVD.
Both cams are really sting out of almost nothing more than the photos of the MVX35i are slightly better than the NV-GS180.
Of course, 3CCD very tempting, and a compact design and not to () as in the MVX35i. The equipment of the MVX35i is significantly higher than the NV-GS180. DV - In, RGB filter, 1 / 3, 4 "CCD with 2.2 MP, etc.
Should you can poke a little bit more cam (so you do not make a purchase) all day, I would recommend upgrading to the Panasonic NV-GS280 or the Canon MVX4i. They are even better in all areas as her explore identical predecessors, but offer very little more of the image quality.
The image quality of the two are actually the same. Looking at "test" s.and MVX35i compares with a NV-GS150 provides you that the Panasonic performs better. MVX35i has a "satisfactory" (2.6), NV-GS150 has a "good" (2.0). With None of the two you will be dissatisfied. You ought to pay attention, what appeals to you s.meidten s.der Cam, you are doing nothing wrong.
Ciao,
Philipp

First of thanks for the prompt response, Philip!
What is the advantage of archiving to DV tape? DVD is still cheaper and compatible with any DVD player?
Unfortunately I can not invest more 150 euro (additional charge for the Pana 280). And which would not be synonymous DV in, right? The GS300 is then def. too expensive ... as synonymous, the proposed Canon ...
Hmm ...
Gruss, MIRIADE
Antwort von Acer:
The advantage is that you do your movies WITHOUT data loss on a MiniDV cassette can save what you can be very useful for future improvements of the film.
(Frankly, I use this feature s.meinem camcorder does not, because I do net) needed
Instead of the NV-GS180, I would recommend to you but then s.deiner point the NV-GS140, as it will cost the same amount and it has a better lens, that of Leica.

If the DV format, therefore better than the DVD format? I Did not.
What confused me but now that Panasonic write on their website in the GS180 that it has a DV input. Also in the brochure / data sheet, which can be download as a PDF, is that it has a DV input ...
Is this a deliberate misinformation or a mistake or it does indeed have such an input?
Gruss, MIRIADE
PS GS140 here costs about 200 CHF more than the GS180 ...
Antwort von Acer:
ne,
she has no dv-in.
DV is better than DVD. There are many discussions here in the forum.

If the DV format, therefore better than the DVD format? In addition, a small Comparison: The data rate of digital video (MiniDV) is 25 megabits per second, allowing the DVD-Video up to 9.8 Mbps, with many DVD players with data rates above 8 Mbit / s does not get along.
Antwort von slysee:
Super, Merci for all the tips and advice! Since the data are conflicting but somewhat tedious, I think. How do things stand with the GS140, which has since DV in? Again, I have two sheets in front of me, each says something different on the Pana website and I find nothing more than older models ...
Thank you for answering this last question!
The trend is more likely to be the Pana 180th If the GS140 has DV in, I wonder when the variant. Despite the somewhat leaner equipment of the GS180, I prefer them well before the Canon MVX35i. I think it suits me better in the hand and the accessory shoe for an external microphone, I'll probably be able to use very well.
So, if anyone knows more about the GS140? Greeting and Thank MIRIADE
Antwort von Acer:
Also, the NV-GS140 as a direct predecessor, the NV-GS280 does not have a Dv-in.
Too bad that you take the NV-GS180. The NV-GS140 would have made you better services. You thread "battle of the giants"

I could take on a friend of one SonyVX1000E. I think that was one of the first 3CCD chip cams. Can not keep up with a Panasonic GS180 or is too old? I could get it relatively cheap (cheaper than the GS180).
What do you. I hardly find information about this camera, especially not in Comparison to today's models.
A HEARTY THANK YOU! MIRIADE
Antwort von Markus:
The VX1000 takes on eBay, where it is fully operational, one is still up to ¬ 1,000. If the equipment is in good condition, then I would take it. However, the VX1000 has no display.
