Frage von mcbird:Hello,
after 2 weeks "training" in the functions and options of the Canon HV30, I still have the problem of exposure control s.der HV30. In photography, I work for years with the manual exposure setting and verify my settings after the recording with a fleeting look at the RGB histogram.
The Canon HV30 gives me now, unfortunately, not synonymous histogram and no manual exposure settings, so I am here with the time and the automatic exposure correction using the 100% zebra setting should help out.
The highlights are on the zebra pattern is even more easy to control but unfortunately I get the shadow is not controlled. My main problem is that on the display of the HV30, the shadow still very good Durchzeichnung reveal these s.PC and then only as a black Einheitsbrei presented.
I work s.einem Mac with 2 monitors calibrated synonymous and the gamma conversion of 2.2 to 1.8 has shown no real improvement. I've synonymous change the brightness of the display HV30 been reduced to the minimum.
Hence my question:
1. If the display of the HV30 really so unsuited to control the exposure, or am I doing something fundamental wrong?
2. Do you have the same problem?
3. What is Dynamic Range (in f-stops) can depict the HV30?
4. As assessed their exposure?
Thanks and best regards,
Daniel

1. If the display of the HV30 really so unsuited to control the exposure, or am I doing something fundamental wrong? It is not intended to be synonymous not optimized. First and foremost, it serves to control the screen. If there is no viewfinders, it is necessary to control the sharpness synonymous. Sharpness, color, image and over-exposure warning by Zebra, that's too much.
2. Do you have the same problem? I do it differently. To Zebra I'm only in case of doubt the display (I A1) I use for the picture and the sharpness (peaking above). But I have now learned, the overall appearance of the image, so synonymous Drawing and Color to estimate
very roughly. Leave me be I do not (see below)
3. What is Dynamic Range (in f-stops) can depict the HV30? High 5th That would be very good. You can use the test:> grayscale map.
4. As assessed their exposure? It is modeled like s.menschlicher skin (roughly equivalent to a 18% gray). Here you have the mean aperture measured, and did you order these hypothetical 5 stops 2 1 / 2 f-stops tolerance up or down. Go but rather of trim levels from 3-4. Will the automatic to a manual back Aperture 4, you can safely to 5.6 (drinking from the shadows, but gets the blouse Faltenwurf) or 2.8 go (drawing in the shadows, the blouse loses structure).

To shutter speed and manual aperture control, you can use the following trick:
If the Still Image button halfway herunterdrückt, just far enough that it beeps, but he does not photographic, it is right below Aperture and exposure time. If you are in the automatic shutter speed, so you can control with the exposure as long as out-and herschieben until the desired aperture is reached.
Works only with an inserted MiniSD card.

The problem, I know synonymous of the HV20 and HV10. The displays are very bright and it seems some underexposed when considering s.kalibrierten monitor at home. I always drive the displays in the lower third of the brightness setting to at least a somewhat reasonable impression of brightness to get. The real solution is the duration but not.
