Hello,
a colleague has a video camera that records on small DVDs. Problem is, the camera has no Firewire port and the mini-DVDs are from the PC-DVD drive is not recognized or detected as empty. Is there a way / trick the movie but on the PC board to get?

basically go through the analogue synonymous away:
dvd player s-vhs and out into the video card inside

S-Video out This is the S-VIDEO Output: S-VHS is an analog recording format that is the problem here with absolutely nothing to do!

Would it perhaps what bring the Camera s.eine TV card or graphics adapter? The camera recognizes that all their mini-DVDs.
