It struck me that Apple has built since 2003 in its PowerBook G4 17 "the Firewire 800, and actually since the ninth big interested.
Is it perhaps because the dubbing with a DV of sufficient material, the 400 Mbps for normal 1:1 exchange, and not much more to bring 800 Mbps in principle?
Or how it looks with external hard disks that support FW 800?

That is what I would be synonymous of interest: I have a motherboard (AMD), synonymous with 800 Mbit Firewire, only the hard disks of these are still too expensive to me.
On the other hand, I could switch Camera and a hard drive s.einem such port consecutively. Would have to go but synonymous, or not?
