I own a SonyPD170 (DVCAM Camcorder, 3CCD, progressive-compatible fashion, etc.)
I would like for an amateur movie for the first time the automatic transmission no longer use it (so far I have mostly worked with automatic).
Are there any tips you can give me? Focus settings, etc. Or things that I absolutely must take?
Also another question: I'm still working with fields, had the Progressive fashion never used, since many of my colleagues have said, TV and Co could not properly deal with frames, and it would then look like shit .. . Is that still true?
What would you recommend me for a feature film? (If only released on DVD, not in movies). Or half full?
Thanks for your tips.

Hello, times more accurate narrative of what you want to do, with the manual Settings - as opposed to your current auto; for example, what the latter could not afford ....

First of all: After all the information I have ergoogelt, is the only progressive scan, which this camera can only image a lactation function in conjunction with the Memory Stick. Synonymous Had a sensation when Sony once affordable camcorder with frames have been brought out (the new small HD-HD-Cam, we do not because of the exotic codecs)! But no broken leg. Frames are not as crucial. The automatic transmission is less to use, is useful and good if you planned, just feature pictures produced by the subjects rather than shoot them just to be recorded. This brings with it usually is, that you asked with light "paint", and want to achieve certain effects, by giving you the all-on-a-comb or a semi-auto makes. If you do not use external exposure meter, you can use, similar to the definition of the manual focus, just over the main motive of the zoom and the automatic determined Aperture take over. Here, I would try a bit. Another factor is the game with the depth of which only DV by tricks or additional equipment can really be reduced. Better than the blind trust in post-production tools, the care in the use of production tools, namely, camera, light, filter, equipment and acting.

... and a video, which with about 12,5 fps running. Ergo: Forget progressive scan in the PD170! - What Sonyden built, is completely unclear to me.
